Why I’m studying my
present style:
I’m studying with
Soshu Dawson because
he has
developed a style
that can be adapted
for any individual.
He walks the walk. Seishin
Ryu has very
traditional
roots and that is
apparent by how it
is taught and how
the students
interact with each
other in the dojo
and
outside in the real
world.
What
I have learned from
studying the martial
arts:
I have learned that
all martial arts are
not the same. A
traditional system
will build and
develop quality
people.
Other systems don’t
have that focus.
I’ve learned that
the path is never
ending and that you
may have many
turns, bumps and
stop signs; but that
you can continue
the path if you so
desire no matter
what. You must
believe in yourself,
and others. A true
karate-ka need
not be boastful or
arrogant but humble
and confident.
Learn the most you
can from the people
you trust and
always think of
others first.
Philosophy I try to
live by:
The Golden Rule, “Do
unto others as you
would have
done unto you”.
Give your time,
talents and love to
others because you
want to; not because
you think you
have to.
Advice may that may
help others in life
and w/their study in
the martial arts:
Be patient, be
diligent, be
respectful of others
put forth your best
effort everyday and
always keep an open
mind.
